What the P3 P4920 Robot Vacuum Cleaner can do for You

The absolute best feature of the P3 P4920 is the price! It is much, much cheaper than the more advanced models of robot vacuum cleaners such as an iRobot or Neato. The P3 P4920 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is currently available at Amazon for about half its normal price. The iRobot and Neato version consistently sell for anywhere between $150.00-$400.00. The P3 P4920 is a fraction of that cost.

With a reduced cost, comes reduced functionality. The iRobot and Neato robot vacuums are capable of so much more than this robotic vacuum cleaner. Although it is capable of cleaning a variety of floor surfaces, it just doesn’t compare to the other versions of robot vacuum cleaners. It’s almost like comparing a toy car to a real car. You can play with it, but it isn’t the same thing.

One thing I can say that the P3 P4920 robot vacuum does have over the more advance robot vacuums is that it is incredibly quiet. Other robot vacuum cleaners are fairly loud, so they are best used while the owner is away (at work or out of the house). This little robot can barely be heard.

The P3 P4920 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is capable of cleaning as long as the owner doesn’t mind a little “babysitting”. It is intended to glide over surfaces while picking up loose dirt. When I say loose dirt, I mean loose dirt. It will not clean to the extent that a typical vacuum will. It does a fairly decent job as long as the dirty area is not completely stuck to the carpet or floor. It will also require some moments of getting the robot vacuum cleaner “unstuck”. A floor that is not level will definitely cause problems for the P3 P4920 Robot Vacuum Cleaner.

Overall, I would say that this robot vacuum has potential due to the price. It does not come close to comparing to typical robot vacuums such as the Neato XV-11 or iRobot Roomba. Those robot vacuums are capable of mapping rooms, self-docking for recharge, and rarely get stuck. But, they are much more expensive than the P3 P4920. Getting one of the P3 P4920 robots will not hurt the pocket so much, but it will not vacuum as well either. It is a nice toy, but that is about it. A few upgrades such as better cleaning would definitely make this serviceable, but for the time being, you should probably shell out the extra money—it is worth it to ensure getting a good clean floor.

I got the professional series because I have a family of professional grade mess makers (kids, husband, pets, etc.). I love it! I think when people are dissatisfied with it they do not understand what it is and what it is not. It won't clean up an already neglected floor. You start with clean floors and then push a button everyday and let it run around your house doing upkeep and you won't have to vacuum anything except for behind items it can't get to once a month or so. The iRobot Roomba 550 vacuum is designed with counter rotating brushes to ensure the floor is cleaned. The brushes sweep and loosen dirt into a dustbin that is easily emptied when necessary.

This little robot is also capable of cleaning in hard to reach places due to its compact design. It is small enough to reach into those spots that are often missed by traditional vacuuming such as under couches or beds. In addition, the iRobot Roomba 550 vacuum has side brushes that make sure corners and along walls are as clean as the rest of the house.

A dirt sensor is also present to let the Roomba 550 know where a certain spot needs a little extra attention. When a dirty area is detected the Roomba will slow down and clean that area more thoroughly than areas that do not need it as bad. That is pretty smart!

In addition, the iRobot Roomba 550 is capable of scheduling cleaning times that work around your schedule. So when you go to work, you will come home to a clean house without doing any of the work.

The Roomba 550 robot vacuum is a sturdy machine, unlike other robot vacuum cleaners. Some robot vacuums are relatively flimsy. The iRobot 550 is made of very sturdy material that makes you feel that it will not break if it is dropped one time.

The iRobot 550 Roomba is also capable of detecting any steep drop-offs such as stairs. This ensures the robot vacuum cleaner does not fall over or go somewhere that it could turn over on its side. The Roomba 550 will therefore get the job done even while no one is around to watch it although you may want to since it is fun to watch!

If you are looking / thinking of purchasing, you must buy asap. I LOVE this little guy. I use it daily to keep a spotless clean midsize house with all of our animals. For the last three weeks, I charge it while we asleep, run it while away, and enjoy CLEAN floors and a less dusty house while home. Its very true, with having clean floors, I havent needed to dust the house in three weeks. I have no issues with it getting stuck, and the charge lasts for a long time. I received my Robot on December 15,2008, an early Christmas Present. Rather than wrapping it, I gave it to the Missus so we could use it so the house would be nice and clean for Christmas day entertaining.

It cleaned beautifully, the carpets looked great! This thing would fill up with crud even after running the old vacuum. How wonderful, one less chore to do.

The iRobot Roomba 400 is a nice little piece of machinery that does exactly what it says it will do. It vacuums the floor or sweeps a hardwood floor while you are away. The Roomba 400 cleans very well, for the most part. It moves around the room under its own power to clean the surface area of the floor. The 400 robot vacuum cleaner does a very good job on those parts of the floor that it does clean. It seems to have issues when confronted with some corners though.

The Roomba 400 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

The Roomba 400 review showed that the robot will clean for about 2-3 hours after a 16 hour charge. Depending on the size of the house, it may require multiple cleanings to completely clean your house. For our tests, it took two cleanings to get all the rooms of the house clean. The battery life of the robot needs an upgrade so it can clean longer, but it isn’t that big of a deal since all you have to do is put in on a charger and start it up the next time you are away from home.

The dustbin that collects the dirt while the Roomba 400 is cleaning fills fairly quickly—at least for the first couple of cleanings. The robotic vacuum cleaner picks up so much pet hair and dirt that the bin becomes full regularly during the first few cleaning cycles. Running the Roomba 400 on a regular basis will make emptying the dustbin a less tedious process.

The best part about the Roomba 400 is just watching it work. It does put up a decent amount of noise, so you may want to turn the television up if that is what you are doing. If you just want to see a robot work, it doesn’t get much better than watching this bad boy work though. During the Roomba 400 review we had quite a few laughs while it moved around bumping into stuff, turning around, and going in another direction.

The Roomba 400 is an earlier model of the iRobot vacuuming robots. It may not have all the bells and whistles that some of the later models such as the Roomba 560 or the Neato XV-11, but it gets the job done at a fairly cheap cost.

The Evolution Robotics Mint Hard Floor Cleaner is a robotic floor cleaner that cleans floors similar to a Neato XV-11 or Roomba 560. The idea behind the Mint floor cleaner is that it will do the work for the owner without supervision. Although it is similar to the Neato XV-11 and the Roomba, there are distinct differences.

The Evolution Robotics Mint Floor Cleaner is more like a sweeper than an actual vacuum cleaner. The Mint floor cleaner works by pushing a “swiffer” pad around to clean hardwood floors. This makes the Mint robot unsuitable to carpets and rugs, unlike the Neato XV-11 or Roomba. In addition, the Mint robot cleaner uses a rubber sensor to let it know if it should not be going over a certain surface or something is in front of it.

The Mint floor cleaner uses a Northstar Navigation System to determine the correct path while cleaning the floor. The Northstar beacon uses an infra-red pattern that it beams onto the ceiling in conjunction with a camera on the Mint robot to guide it around the room.

Mint Floor Cleaner and the IR Mapping System

The Mint floor cleaner review was performed on a hardwood floor that was mostly free of obstructions. The Mint robot proved to be very effective on most parts of the floor. The Mint robot avoided the stairs, chair legs, and a broom in the corner without any problems. The only navigation problem the Mint floor cleaner encountered was when it ran up against some tile flooring with a slight drop. The Mint thought it was a staircase and would not go over the slight bump to clean that part of the floor.

The Mint floor cleaner also cleaned in both “sweep” and “mop” mode. The sweep mode is basically a dry mode that is used to push the “swiffer” pad around to get up dirt and dust. “Mop” mode was used next for deep cleaning. The Mint robot did a very nice job of cleaning. Switching modes is very easy. Just start it up on dry mode and then switch to wet mode after it completes sweeping. Although there were a couple of spots that could have been done better by a person, it is definitely better than doing it yourself.

The Mint floor cleaner performed admirably when compared to other units such as the Neato XV-11 or the Roomba 560. The Mint is not as advanced as the Neato with it’s laser-mapping, but it navigates very well without the laser technology. The main drawback of the Mint floor cleaner is that it can only clean hardwood floors. The Mint robot is not intended to compete with the likes of the Roomba or Neato to vacuum floors so it is not that much of a problem for the informed buyer. The Mint floor cleaner is meant to provide a clean hardwood floor without the owner lifting much more than a finger. The Mint does this very well. The Mint floor cleaner review impressed us with the robot’s navigation and cleaning capabilities.
